If you’re interested in where your favorite stars live, what kind of cooks they are, then just check the ‘V’ app.
Naver’s new ‘V’ app has gained a tremendous response for creating a platform which provides unique live content.  A platform which connects fans from around the world with their favorite K-pop stars.  One can glimpse into the lives of their favorite stars, and whenever, wherever, a surprise meeting with their stars is possible.

Inside the ‘V’ app, each K-pop star has a channel where their unique content is available for fans to watch and contribute to.  They can give previews of their imminent comebacks, show off their cooking skills, or unveil their beauty secrets.  The energy of a live stage performance can be easily transmitted to fans as the stars introduce their rehearsal space and provide new glimpses of their private lives to their fans.
In addition, the ‘V’ app allows communication from fans all over the world, in real-time.  Since it is mobile-centric, anyone with a smartphone can access the content to watch live, or whenever convenient for them.  By commenting in the live feed, communication between the audience and artist becomes much more fluid and free.  When fans made cute requests to SHINee during their live stream, SHINee members responded on the spot and created a great experience for the audience.  It is a refreshing and fun platform of content.
What’s more, the live streams of the private lives of stars is the primary enjoyment of the app. From 2PM’s cooking episode, BIGBANG’s office meeting and tour of YG’s headquarters, Kara’s ‘Girl Time’, each channel provides a diverse look into the lives of the stars.  SHINee showed off their dance choreography and their rehearsal studio in conjunction with their comeback, and also live streamed the fan signing event to the delight of their audience.
Especially, the everyday regular private parts of their favorite stars has garnered much interest.  From Girl’s Day’s Sojin working out at the gym, to comedians preparing backstage for a show, the ‘V’ app provides a live video feed of what’s going on with the favorite stars.  For example, Jung Yong Hwa recently opened up his home and performed live for his audience and had a fun chat with his fans.  Kind of like having a video call with your favorite star, the fans are loving this type of engagement.  Although separated by a smartphone, seeing the stars in their normal environment, without all the glitz and jazz, is the kind of intimacy that the app provides.
Furthermore, not all the content is streamed at a designated time or place.  It can happen anytime, anywhere, which results in a surprisingly delightful experience.  As BIGBANG recently stated, “We will continue to communicate with fans through ‘V’”.  Although sometimes in small short doses, the stars and fans will be able to connect with each other regardless of where they are in the world.    Since it will be live, the unpredictable nature of the content may also be anticipated.
K-pop’s super stars, delightful and charmingly uninhibited, connecting with a global audience; the Naver ‘V’ app is quite an attractive new place for entertainment content.
